Colonic Irrigation is a “super enema.”
Your colon is over five feet long. If you want to cleanse all of it you need a colonic irrigation. Here is how a colonic works. A colonic irrigation uses special equipment and gravity to give your colon an internal bath. The person receiving the colonic lies on a special colema-board, which is about three feet below the temperature-controlled water flow. A disposable speculum is gently inserted in the rectum. Under the control of the practitioner, a steady flow of water gently flows from a small water tube. There is no discomfort, no internal pressure, just a steady gentle water flow in and then out of the colon through the disposable evacuation tube, carrying with it impacted feces and mucous. Unlike an enema, a colonic irrigation does not involve the retention of water. As the practitioner gently massages the abdomen to help the colon release its contents, recover its natural shape, tone, and normalize peristaltic wave action. A view tube is available for observation and all colonic matter is contained in the equipment. You do nothing but lie back and relax while the entire colon is cleansed.
A colonic irrigation uses about 20 to 30 gallons of water and takes about forty-five minutes. The colonic procedure is not offensive, nor painful. The first things most people talk about feeling after a colonic irrigation is a sense of lightness, energy and improved sense of well-being. Skin condition, digestion, and immune response can improve. Body odor, bad breath, and belly distention have been known to improve.
The State’s position – as determined by the (FDA) – requires that colonic irrigation devices used for colonics requires a physician’s prescription to be on file for every colon hydrotherapy client.
You may present a prescription in our office from your own physician or in most cases; with your approved client Intake Form, your prescription can be cleared through our Medical Director Joel Alvear, M.D. here at The Healing Connection.
